OUR EXPLORATION

From a beautiful selection of creative-mindfulness prompts, methods and exercises, we explore the theme behind the Muse you’ve chosen.

An example of options based on your interests:

  • Cultivate more highly attuned awareness through mindful photography.

  • Explore the felt-sense of freedom and fluidity in your body exploring intuitive colour with ink and watercolour.

  • Experience a sense of calm playfulness while exploring the art of Slow Collage.

  • Connect to the moment and get into an open receptive state, learning alternative drawing methods, like recording your breath on paper, or drawing expressively to music.

  • Savour a flow of ideas through free-writing prompts connected to the idea behind Muse that you chose.

  • Create your own zentangle or Mandala, and enjoy the process of slowly filling it in to music.

I created the Meditative Muses series to help ground me in my own life. The ideas behind each of the eight Muse symbols have universal and timeless resonance, with the power to help bring a more expansive perspective to life.

These one-to-one sessions are customized to your interests, and blend inspiring creative prompts with awareness of breath & the present moment — you will learn a range of sensory methods to regulate your nervous system and change your state, experiencing more flow and creative expression.

FAQ

What does a session look like?

Your session will start in my studio at the Wychwood Barns, we will land with a short guided meditation, setting an intention for the session, all art materials and tea.

I’m not very experienced with meditation/I’m not creative/I can't draw. Are you sure this workshop is for me?

YES! This workshop has been designed for all levels of experience – you will surprise yourself! All you need is an open mind and a little playful curiosity! We will be focusing on the sensory experience of slowing down and exploring expression with art materials. You will get the rare experience as an adult to focus on the process and not the final product.

Do you offer this for small groups or pairs?

These sessions are structured as a bespoke 1:1 experience, but can be tailored to a duo or small group upon request.

I am actually very comfortable with creative expression and/or mindfulness meditation. Will there be something new in this experience for me?

Absolutely! I will be providing a container/space to explore and play creatively in combination with mindfulness practices and concepts, so even if you have experience with one or both, you likely haven’t combined them in this way before. With an open or ‘beginner’s mindset’, there is always something new to discover. While many of these exercises seem simple they are actually quite profound. They are practices that can be repeated endless times with new layers and discoveries available along the way.
